Yarm, ranked 2nd out of all schools (across all categories) in the North East and 129th nationally. Yarm’s A Level A* rate was 28.7% and A*-A was 61.7%. At GCSE, Yarm ranked 112th nationally with 78.2% of all examinations being graded 9-7 – see our 2022 results here.
The prestigious guide uses examination results from 2022 to rank schools and sorts them into numerous tables which include: top independent schools, top independent schools with no sixth form, top state schools, etc.
Headmaster Dr Huw Williams, said: “We are delighted to be ranked 2nd of all schools in the North East and top school within Teesside and County Durham. Our rise up the tables to 129th nationally, and 112th for GCSE results, reinforces and affirms the outstanding work, dedication and perseverance of our teachers and pupils during lockdown.
“At Yarm we educate pupils for life beyond school, “Educating for Life”. As well as our emphasis on academic success, pupils are supported to thrive outside the classroom through a wide range of extracurricular offerings: music, drama, outdoor education, timetabled activities and sporting participation and competition, leading to regional and national success.”
