Life After Yarm |
Organised by Miss Rhodes the Working Lunch provided a valuable opportunity for current pupils to find out about the experiences and pathways of the former pupils since leaving. Eight alumni joined in person, while two joined virtually to speak to a large audience of Upper and Lower Sixth.
The session began with introductions from the Class of 2024 and their post Yarm experience so far, from university course to competitive degree apprenticeships. The current students then asked a series of questions which revealed an insight into the first few months at university, course choices, accommodation and much more. Whilst the former pupils pursuing degree apprenticeships with EY and PwC, were questioned about the financial and professional benefits and their courses.
The advice for excelling in Economics and Business was gratefully received from the current students with the takeaways being to plan ahead, embrace change and seek support when needed.
Thank you to this group and all our former pupils for their generosity of time which inspires the next generation at Yarm.
